Privacy Policy
Who we are
This site is run by Caine & Touchdown Show, based in South Carolina. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site, join the Survivor pool or the merch waitlist, and how we use it. Questions or requests: support@caineandtouchdown.com.
What we collect
- Survivor pool sign-up: your first name, optional last name, email address, display name and any social handles you choose to add, plus your email preferences. To keep the pool fair we also record the IP address and a code derived from your browser type and language at sign-up, and the IP address of sign-in link requests.
- Survivor picks and results: your weekly picks and whether your entry is still alive.
- Merch waitlist: your email address.
- Emails you receive: a record that each email was sent, so we do not send duplicates.
Site statistics
We measure visits ourselves, without cookies and without third-party analytics. For each page view or click on a listening-app link we record the page, the site that referred you, any campaign tag in the link, your country (from our host), whether you are on a phone or a computer, and a visitor code. The visitor code is computed from your IP address and browser type together with the date, changes every day, and cannot be turned back into either; neither your IP address nor your browser details are stored. A campaign tag you arrived with is remembered only in your browser tab until you close it.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we record nothing.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in: one for the Survivor pool (limited to the pool pages) and one for the show's hosts in the admin area. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the Survivor pool: sign-in links, pick reminders, results and prize contact.
- To send the weekly card and show news, only if you opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To email you when merch is available, if you joined the waitlist.
- To understand which episodes and links people use, in totals.
- To prevent duplicate or fraudulent Survivor entries.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a few service providers to run the site, and they process data only on our behalf: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and host sign-in) and Postmark (email delivery). We may disclose information if the law requires it.
YouTube and Google data
The show's private admin tools connect to the show's own YouTube channel through Google's APIs, with read-only access, to read that channel's video list and analytics: views, watch time, subscribers gained, impressions and click-through rate. Visitors never sign in with Google on this site, and we do not access any visitor's Google or YouTube data.
We use this data only to show the hosts how the podcast performs. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared except with the service providers above that store it. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Google API Services User Data Policy
- By using YouTube features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- The channel owner can revoke this access at any time in Google security settings, or by disconnecting YouTube in the admin tools, which deletes the stored access token.
How long we keep it
We keep Survivor and waitlist information while the pool or waitlist is running and for as long as needed to settle prizes and keep records, then delete it on request. Site statistics contain nothing that identifies you and are kept for trends over time. YouTube analytics for the show's channel are kept until the hosts delete them.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom of it.
- Ask to see, correct or delete your information, or to leave the Survivor pool, by emailing support@caineandtouchdown.com. We will respond within 30 days.
- Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control to switch off site statistics.
Age
This site is intended for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes that affect Survivor entrants will also be emailed to them.
